The Baath Leadership denies abandoning the Armed Resistance*

An authorized spokesman for the Arab Baath Socialist Party Leadership in Iraq ascertained that the lies published by the Associated Press and many others Internet sites, including the Iraqi News Agency concerning Mujahid Izzat A Duri, Iraq deputy Secretary general asking the Baath and the Resistance Combatants to lay arms, is nothing but a part of the US campaign against the Resistance in order mainly to disrupt the Resistance ranks, deform the Baath image to look for some ex Baathists to speak in the name of the Party.
The spokesman added that the Party will not lay arms and it will continue the armed Resistance until the utter Independence and the return of the Iraq sovereignty and the freedom for its people.
In rapport to the statement of the (Temporary Iraq Leadership) the spokesman explained that this leadership doesn't exist and those who are behind such a statements are the CIA which bought debased and expelled individuals from the Party to use them to spread stupid rumors which can't fool any Baathist militants. The Baath has a legitimate leadership which is leading the Party through its wide masses represented by Iraq Secretary General the detainee Comrade Saddam Hussein and his Deputy Comrade Izzat al Duri.
The Iraq Baath Leadership spokesman ascertained also that any contact with the US either in Jordan or elsewhere doesn't represent the Party and may have been undertaken by elements which have no relations to the Baath and don't represent it in any case. These are puppets in hands of the Occupation. The US occupation facing the utter collapse and is trying to hold on even to a straw, to save itself, through contacting corrupt elements which betrayed the homeland for they accepted to be a tool in the hands of the Occupation.
The spokesman indicated that the Party has spoken to the US publicly through the Liberation and Independence Program: i.e. that there is no negotiations whatsoever and that the Baath rejects any negotiation before the Occupation accepts the Resistance conditions.. Therefore any talk about contact with the Baath is false and a pack of lies.
